Start a food journal
Keeping a food diary is the first step towards a quick and easy pound loss. You will write down every food you consume over a one week period including beverages you drink.
The whole idea is to track your food and beverage intake over the first week, so we can analyze it to identify areas that would need modification.
It is also a good idea to include your emotional state alongside your meal documentation. Don’t forget to estimate the food portions too.
What will become obvious at the time of analysis is how much emotional eating is contributing to your weight issues and how oversized your food portions are.
Step 2
Time to trim the food portions
Most of us consume more calories than we need. As a result our bodies store the excess calories as fat for use in future unfortunately. Consume less calories and our body will have no excess calories to store.
So our next step to lose pounds fast is to reduce our food portions. In particular, you will need to cut down on the amount of carbohydrate in your meals.
A rule of thumb is to have just a quarter of your food portion made up of carbohydrate, with protein and vegetables making up the rest of your plate.
Step 3
Change your mindset
When you alter the way you eat, you see it as a dieting regime. This is wrong!
The reason is dieting is almost invariably seen as a temporary or short term measure which means it is not sustainable in the long term or medium term for that matter.
So once the dieting period is over, we slip back into our old ways which inevitably leads to a return of the pounds.
Well my advice for this problem is to change your mindset and make whatever alterations that are proving beneficial for your weight loss a lifestyle choice. This is the easiest way to make such changes last for a long time because these changes become a way of life.
